Summer Travel Tips

Summer Travel season is here! Before you head to the airport for your summer adventure, read these important travel tips. Research your destination before you travel. Enroll in STEP program

  1. Be at the airport 2 hours early! There will be record number of traveler’s flying this summer. There is nothing worse than running down to the gate.

  2. A carry-on bag is not a full size suitcase. You know, the passengers who bring their giant suitcase and stuff in overhead bin so there’s no room for anyone else.

  3. If you want to bring water through TSA, freeze it!

  4. Be kind!!! Let’s all just be nice, kind, and tolerant. Everyone just wants to get to their destination without interruptions.

  5. Everyone knows that airplanes are germ fests. Wipe down armrests, tray table light and air controls. Do not put anything in seat pocket, those are never cleaned! If you do put anything in there, don’t forget it when you leave.

  6. Bring headphones for your devices.

  7. Avoid using the bathroom. I know this might not be possible on long flights, enter at your own risk. Bring eipes or travel Lysol to spray surfaces. Think about how people touch bathroom on a flight, or go back to seat without washing hands, touching every seat on their way back.

  8. Bring a small snack.

  9. Phew, you landed, now calm down until airplane gets to gate. It’s not a stampede to get off plane, just relax!

  10. Have fun!!! Be safe! If you are traveling solo leave your itinerary with a family or friend.
